Rotary hemming units are used
to roll form a hem or turn-up on the edge of the fin. There are a series of rollers that form the hem in 3 steps.
The first step is to form the strip at 90 degrees, then the next station forms the hem under by 45 degrees, lastly
a set of rollers flattens the hem onto the parent material. A set of pinch rolls pull the material through the machine
and are operated by a dancer arm controlled motor. This motor runs at the same speed as the fin machine providing
a smooth supply of material up to the fin machine. Versatility is the biggest advantage of the Rotary style hemming
unit. This hemmer with the appropriate spacer plates can be setup to run a variety of fin sizes to match the tooling
in your fin machine.
• Flexibility is the main
advantage of the rotary hemming station by allowing you to run several fin patterns in one station
• Solid
spacers are used to change from row to row controlling exactly the sizes of the fin
• Easy to use guide pins
are used to guide the material through the hemming station
• Pinch rollers pull the material through keeping
the fin flat while maintaining the machine speed
• Center trap plates to hold the material in place as it’s
being hemmed
• Small compact design to fit into your production space
